News and Winning Achievements of 2006
December 28th – First of all, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and are looking forward to New Year!
The vet came out yesterday and took some x-rays of Daisy’s feet. This is to make sure she has little or no rotation of the coffin bone in her feet. If she has he needs to know how much so he can work out how we proceed with her recovery. She is on the drug bute at the moment and we don’t want her on that for a long period of time because it causes ulcers and affects the baby. So we will most likely be changing that medication at some stage. We have now taken the pads off of her feet and the wraps off of her legs. All swelling has gone down and although she is still “ouchy” on her front feet she is able to get around. Her incision is still oozy but that is good because we would rather that than for it to heal quick, not drain and cause an infection. She is apparently out of the woods for any occurring problems with the actual surgery but we are hoping to control this laminitis so she can carry on the pregnancy and live life pain free. She is likely to make a full recovery from the laminitis but it just takes a while to get over something like this. She may be susceptible to this in the future so we will be keeping an eye on her for a looong time!
As for the “Ladies in waiting”, Honey (*Thorncliffe Princess) and Megan (Misty Mountain Megan) are doing very good. Megan has popped that belly out and getting ready for baby and Honey is fairly close behind her. They are both grazing on a lovely 10 acre pasture at the moment and will be brought back over to the main barn in a couple of weeks. They are both doing well on their mare and foal grain and starting to bloom. So as soon as they are brought over from the big pasture I will let you know.
Both cams are up and running. We only are using one at the moment because we want eyes on Daisy 24/7 but as soon as we use the other stall we will use both cams. We won’t be having 2 screens, just the one. The existing screen will then change the view from each stall within an amount of time. If we have both girls fairly close in delivering then the time that will change the view of the stalls will be shortened. If we have one girl that is pushing ahead with preparing for baby, then we will either lengthen the screen time OR just keep the cam on her. Daisy should be fairly recovered by then so I will physically go over and check her several times as she won’t have a cam on her by then-hopefully!
So, we have a very exciting time ahead and I will keep you all updated on Daisy, the girls and other news!
December 25th -
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone from us
all at Jadehanna Ranch!!
December 24th – Daisy is having her
good and bad days at the moment. She has a very painful right
hoof/leg that the laminitis is hitting and she is getting swelling
on and above the knee. She is having her leg hosed several times a
day, ice packed and then wrapped. She also has her two front hooves
padded with Styrofoam (polystyrene) and vet wrap to take pressure
off of her frog and hooves. She is on bute but I really don’t think
that is helping that much at the moment so we may be switching her
to something else. She will be having her hooves x-rayed Weds/Thurs
next week to see how much rotation has occurred in her feet.
Her incision is looking good, it is still oozing but that is good
because it is draining. Her edema under her belly has gone down a
tremendous amount and she has now increased her hay to one leaf
every 4-6 hours so she is doing well there. She is still pooping and
drinking which is great. So everything to do with the surgery is
going well.
She still needs many prayers, good thoughts and the best wishes to
get her through this and make a speedy recovery. She has a long way
to go but we need to make her comfortable soon so she can continue
to cook “baby” pain free!
December 20th – Unfortunately Daisy now has post op founder. She is very painful on her feet, not eating much or drinking. So we are going to pad her feet, she is in a thick stall bed with rubber mats and on bute. Dr.Walters is watching her carefully and this is something that is going to take a while for her to get over so she really isn’t out of the woods just yet. I will keep everyone updated!
December 19th – HAPPY 11th B’DAY BETHANY – HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!
December 18th – Daisy is continuing to improve. She now has a bit of oozing at the surgery site but it is manageable. She is eating, pooping, peeing and drinking which is what we want to see. She is having a bit of hand grazing which she is enjoying. It is looking so good for her and what a true “Power Pony”
December 16th – We collected Daisy and she looks fantastic, a bit of weight loss but that is it. She is very forward going and back to her normal personality. She will have to be stall rested for 4 – 8 weeks so she will be on the ponycam until we get Megan and Honey in for foaling.
A HUGE THANKS to Dean, Mum and Dad for sticking with Daisy. Also another HUGE THANKS to Dr.Walters and Dr. Sarah Malyjaszek at the University of Florida for saving Daisy and Baby’s life! THANK U ALL!!!
Peppermint Patti’s eye is doing well, still a bit red but we are still medicating and hopefully she will be ok soon.
December 15th – The vet called and Daisy can come home!!! She has done so well and both her and Baby have come through so much, so quickly! She was checked by the Repro Specialist and baby was doing great with a healthy heartbeat, so fingers crossed he/she is comfortable in there and wants to hang out for another 5 months. So we will be collecting her tomorrow.
December 12-14th – Again Daisy and Baby seem comfortable and doing well. She seems alert and getting back to her old self, her new name at the University is “Amazing Daisy” due to her quick recovery!
December 12th – We are out of the 48 hour critical stage now. She is eating, pooping, peeing and drinking. Things are looking good!
December 11th – Both Daisy and Baby seems to be doing very well, we are 24 hours into the critical stages and they seems to be improving. There could still be post-op problems but all is well at the moment.
December 10th – HAPPY B’DAY DAD! Daisy still isn’t good, getting worse in fact. The vet called this morning and said that she will need to go to surgery because they just cannot figure out what is going on with her. We had to seriously think about this because not only is colic surgery extremely expensive but it is also very risky. Daisy’s prognosis was going down by the hour. If she doesn’t have surgery both her and the foal will most likely die within the 24 hours anyway. We decided that Daisy and the foal needed this chance. I was hoping it wasn’t going to be bad news but we had to find out what was wrong.
Both Daisy and baby went under anesthesia, the surgery took place and when they opened her up they couldn’t believe what they saw.. it was what they called a strangulated lipoma (tumor). If you can imagine a baseball on a piece of string that is exactly what she had inside her. Whilst rolling she had flipped this tumor over her intestine and it had cut off the blood supply. Luckily during another bout of rolling she had flipped it back but it had already done the damage to the piece of intestine. They had to cut out the tumor and about 6-7 feet of dead intestine. If they hadn’t of done the surgery we would have never known what the problem was. They both came out of the anesthesia with no problems but now we had her in a critical 24-48 hours.
December 9th – The vets called and Daisy still isn’t right, they now think she has ulcers. She has had more tests and is now under a Repro Specialist for the foal as well as the Intestinal Specialist. She has been given more medication to make her comfortable whilst she is still under investigation.
December 8th – Daisy had a really uncomfortable night with a lot of rolling. So we called Dr.Walters out again and he put her on some IV fluids, with 4 medications in. By the afternoon she hadn’t improved, we was getting worried about her and her unborn foal, so he palpated her and baby seemed ok but she definitely wasn’t. So we decided to take her to the University of Florida, in Gainesville. Upon arrival she was checked over thoroughly, she wasn’t in much pain as she was given banamine before she left the Ranch. She was again put on fluids, given a rectal and ultra sound. They initially thought that she had an impaction, so she was to stay over night for assessment.
December 7th – Around lunchtime I noticed that Daisy was laying down more than usual so we managed to get her in a stall and watch her on the cam. She was still a bit uncomfortable so I called the vet-Dr.Walters to come and take a look at her. He tubed her and she seemed to perk up a little but we are still watching her.
Peppermint Patti our new little miniature mare sustained an eye injury and she was checked over as well. She has been put on a steroid and a painkiller to help her.
December 6th - I had a great day today! It was the first time that I have ridden Lexi in 9 months! What with her having her foal, weaning, then being off my feet for periods of time, I physically haven’t been able to ride. SO, I was getting the riding itch again, now I am up and about I arranged with Jen (my trainer) to go for a trail ride with me. We had to travel 45 mins to West Orange Trail in Apopka, Florida. We took Lexi and also our Paint Horse Oscar. I of course rode Lexi, thinking, well, we are both unfit, and I can’t wait to ride her again so I’ll take the easy one – OH NO, how wrong was I.
Firstly, we had to park at a showground, wow, what a mistake that was, what an eager beaver she was, thinking she was going to go show! Then for 4 miles of the trail, she walked like she was on a mission, then she began to tire (a little)! When we hit the 6 mile marker, I was still feeling pretty good but knowing we had 6 miles back and thinking the horses needed to take it easy and how Lexi had relaxed we thought we had better head home – OH NO AGAIN, how wrong was I!!! GOING HOME, YIPEE, she was bouncy and excited and back to herself. Luckily she is such a comfortable cob and I feel so safe on her that it wasn’t a problem, only for my ankles, knees, back and hands – only joking ;0)
We rode for 3 hours and it was a great ride, we even swapped on the last 2 miles so Jen could give me a break with Lexi’s eagerness, plus I could see how Oscar was doing in his training and it was SO nice to have the shady trees and the relaxation of riding that I have been missing so much.
Now, I KNOW, how I am going to feel tomorrow and I’m not looking forward to it. But 12 miles in 3 hours was good going but not the way I’d recommend to ease yourself back into riding. Plus now I know that Lexi is way more fit than she is making out, oh boy are we stepping her training up and she may just be back in the show ring quicker than anticipated!!
We are going to try and do this at least once a month and try out other trails also, and Miracle the Chief will be going on the next one we have planned, which is an 8 mile trail, he is going to love it! So I’ll update you on that when we go…..now where is that hot bath!
December 4th -–The PONYCAM is up and running a month early!! Thanks to John (my webmaster in the UK) and Julian (My tech guy in the USA) we are LIVE!
You will now be able to see horses in during the day. I will try and make sure that Ace stays in for this week during the day so you can see how big he has grown. NO lights will be left on at night until middle of January, so as soon as it gets dark nothing will be seen. I will send out an email and post an update on the message board and on the News Page when we make the decision on the date that we will be leaving lights on during the night.
We still have just the one camera at the moment and the second camera will be put in end of December so we can watch Megan and Honey at the same time whilst we wait for them to foal. Megan will start staying in at night from middle to the end of January, and I hope to have them on cam as much as possible for you all to see.
Please feel free to use the message board as much as you want and in the New Year I’ll set a day and time when we can all get together and post messages and I can do some updates on the girls.
If you have forgotten how to get to the PONYCAM, you’ll find on the left hand side of my home page the links, click on the link called PONYCAM, then click on COMBINED PONYCAM & MESSAGE BOARD. There you will see the cam and the message board on the same page. If you are on dial up there is a link for you also. Or you can just have the cam separate or just the message board.
One last thing, don’t forget to email me your predictions for the color and sex of Megan and Honeys foals. Under the TV screen, you can click on:
PREDICTIONS FOR MEGAN'S NEW FOAL
PREDICTIONS FOR HONEY'S NEW FOAL
Here is where you can see all of their predictions made by other people and also a list of the possible colors that the foal may be. Whoever guesses the correct color and sex of each foal, depending on which mare has foaled you will get a small prize from either, Megan and her new foal OR Honey and her new foal sent to you soon after the birth. So you have to be in it to win it PLUS it is a lot of FUN!
If you want to be alerted on any other foalings you can go into www.foalnet.com and sign up for the low and high alerts. All of our girls are registered on there and you will receive an alert if anything happens. You can also see playbacks etc through that website.
SO, let the ponycam watching begin, see ya on cam!
The PREDICTION page is up and running and it looks like the majority think that Megan will have a filly – I personally think a colt-I have been wrong before, but we’ll see.
For Honey’s prediction page the colt and filly choice is about neck and neck. Both mares have an assortment of colors chosen for the new foal!
So, please join in the fun, whoever has the correct prediction will get a small “Jadehanna Ranch” prize sent to them after the foaling, so give it a try! We had 3 winners last year!! Email me all predictions to jhranch@cfl.rr.com. Don’t wait to long, you’ve got to be in it to win it!
November 23rd – HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone from all of the horses, ponies, cobs, critters & people from Jadehanna Ranch!!
November 18th – Today we had 3 new arrivals! A mare owner from this year who bred a mare to our *Springbourne Eldorado had offered me to buy this mare from her and 2 others. One is a little non-registered chestnut with flaxen mane and tail pony mare named “D.C Ginger” aka “Ginger” who is in foal to Eldorado. The second is another non-registered, dark bay Welsh cross pony mare named “D.C Lexie” aka “Lexie” (another Lexie on the farm!), and in foal to the buckskin roan Section A stallion Clarwood Royal Fair and the third is a registered palomino QH mare named “Zip Drive Love” aka “Lovey” in foal to the chestnut Section B stallion G.P Kupids Kaper. All 3 foals will be registered Half Welsh and will be for sale. The 2 pony mares “Ginger” and “Lexie” will be great for the Riding Center and I have also had previous enquiries for Quarter Horses (QH’s) so I knew I could find the QH a great home at some stage. If not she will stay, foal out with us and be broken under saddle for the riding school. Lexie is due to foal in March (just after Honey), then Ginger is due to foal in May (3-7 days after Daisy) and Lovey is due end of May beginning of June (just after Ginger). Their photos are now on the 2007 FOALS page (with a very pregnant Lexie!) and we have UPDATED the PLANNED BREEDING page also.
SO, we have the definite FINAL number of 8 foals due next year – WOOHOO!!! We need as many ponycammers as we can now, so keep watching for updates and the cam will be up and running VERY SOON!!!
November 13th – I usually do my MAJOR New Year updates in the New Year but seeing as we have 2 mares due within the same time in January/February I thought that I would do them earlier. January/February is going to be extremely hectic and I don’t want the website to fall behind. So here are a few of the changes so far:
Stallion Page – Monivea First Gold has now been gelded so has been transferred to the gelding page. Which now leaves our very handsome palomino Section A imported stallion *Springbourne Eldorado, our very dashing bay Section C stallion Miracle the Chief and our drop dead gorgeous brown dun/smoky black Section D imported stallion *Danaway Ali on that page. We have also included our 3 future stallions, Section A homebred buckskin stallion Jadehanna El Diablo and our cremello Section A stallion Wildwynn Legacy, who will both be available for stud in 2008 (all enquiries welcome). Also I have put on there our 2006 black Section D colt Jadehanna Lord Lexington, now he will be available in 2009 (again all enquiries welcome), it may seem quite a long time away but time flys!!
Future Stallions – This page has stayed the same.
Stallion Gallery – Monivea First Gold has been taken off, but you can still access his gallery link via his own page. Miracle the Chiefs gallery has been added. After the photographers have been this week I am hoping to have a nice gallery for him up and running, so bear with us on that one.
Stud Services – This has stayed the same but just to let people know, *Springbourne Eldorado’s and Danaway Ali’s books are very nearly full. I think they only have one or two spaces left!!
Mares Page
– This page now has our homebred
Jadehanna El Diosa on it. She will
be 3yrs old in 2007 and so worthy of
the mares page. Also if you hadn’t
notice our “Mother’s to be” all have
this sign
next
to their name. So you can check out
who is due and who is open.
2006 Foals – For the moment Jadehanna Lord Lexington will stay on this page until January 1st , he will then move to the YEARLING Page!
2007 Foals – This is pretty much updated. Our last 2007 foal due is at the bottom of the page and again after the photographers have been I should have some nice photos of Ranlan Black Pearl who is in foal to *Danaway Ali. She is a maiden mare and a very beautiful mare, so we are looking forward to this foal – very much!
Planned Breedings – Here we have listed again all the 2007 foals due and the 2007 planned breedings for foals in 2008. We have definitely 7 planned at the moment, and hopefully they will all fall pregnant and give us some wonderful foals. It is going to be a busy year next year!!
“J” Babies – We have added our newest “J” baby who is as you all know Jadehanna Lord Lexington – many more to add soon!
Yearlings Page – Jadehanna El Diablo and Wildwynn Legacy have been taken off this page as they are now coming 2yr olds they are on the Stallion Page and Future Stallion Page.
Youngstock Page – Jadehanna El Diosa, Jadehanna El Encanto and Jadehanna Magic Dragon have all been moved to their new links mentioned above. We just have one filly on here who was an outside breeding.
Geldings Page - We have the three newest geldings on here now, Monivea First Gold, Jadehanna El Encanto and Jadehanna Magic Dragon.
We will of course with a week or two have all of our new UPDATED photos of some of the horses, ponies and cobs residing at Jadehanna Ranch. We will also have a new page called “Breeding Lease Mares” which I will have 5 extra mares on. Then we will have another 2 horses on the Sales Page soon, so LOTS MORE TO COME!!!
November 5th - Miracle the Chief is now home and settling in VERY well. He is loving his new pasture and the attention. He is going to be worked with over the winter to go under saddle and hopefully be shown next year. He also has a wife here that he will breed to in February next year for a 2008 foal, which we will look forward to!
Ali has a foal due August next year and he also has 4 wives here to breed to in February for 2008 foals so I am also looking forward to that. He too will be worked with over the winter months to go under saddle and again hopefully shown next year.
BOTH he and Chief will have a limited stud book next year as we want to concentrate on their performance careers. So book before December 31st for the reduced rate they only have a few spaces left!!!
Our wonderful friends Sally and David Walters from the UK who are professional photographers are visiting us again in a couple of weeks. So look out for some updated pics of the ponies and cobs! We will also be getting new photos of 3 of the new Riding Center horses, Anduril Tos (Arabian), Bright Spirit (POA-for sale) and Full Moon (Welsh X-for sale). All 3 are lovely horses and I’m sure the photos will show that!
So, final count we have 5 foals due next year starting in January and ending in September and (hopefully) 7 due in 2008!!! WOW!!! I am depending on you ponycammers to help me watch and I will be posting more updates on Misty Mountain Megan and *Thorncliffe Princess aka “Honey” soon.
October 28th-
We attended the
Open Show ran by the POA in Apopka this
weekend with Ima Painted Lark aka “Oscar”.
Our trainer/instructor Jennifer rode him and
did very well. They entered in Hunt Seat
Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle and Hunter
Under Saddle Sr.Horse and they won every
class!! I have posted show pics on his page
which can be found via the GELDING link.
We also have our lease horses and Miracle
the Chief arriving on Tuesday/Wednesday so
will update you on that.
Then we have the vet coming down to the
Ranch on Thursday Nov 2nd to scan our girls
we have here and the mares here on lease –
so fingers crossed for a couple more babies
due next year!
October 22nd - *Danaway Ali is finally home from the reproduction clinic. He has been having tests for collection and AI shipment and everything went great! He has also bred a few mares whilst up there, but I won’t list them until we have confirmations of pregnancy. One of them is DEFINITELY pregnant though, but I want to give her another week or two to settle before I make the announcement. All the mares are pure bred Section D, so we are hoping for some nice foals in 2007/2008 from Ali. So if all goes well at the moment we will have 5 foals due in 2007!!! Which will be:
*Thorncliffe Princess (Honey) x *Springbourne Eldorado – Section A (RESERVED or RETAINED)
Rosmel’s Cream Puff x *Springbourne Eldorado – Section A
Daydreaming Daisy x *Springbourne Eldorado – Half Welsh/Half POA eligible
Misty Mountain Megan x GF Prince Albert – Sec D
???? x *Danaway Ali – Sec D
We are taking enquiries now if you have any interest in these foals. Please email me on jhranch@cfl.rr.com and I can let you know what is reserved and what isn’t.
Our MESSAGE BOARD will be up and running again soon PLUS we will have a 2nd ponycam wired up by the end of the year. Our 1st and 2nd mares that are due Megan and Honey are due at the same time in February and our 3rd and 4th mares due Daisy and Puff are also due at the same time in May, so we need both cams to watch them at the same time. Let’s hope they don’t decide to foal on the same night, but then again we will get the job done in one!
Jadehanna Lord Lexington aka “Ace” is growing big and strong and he has UPDATED pics on his page, now he is 4 months old. He will be weaned in 2 weeks so Lexi can go back under saddle for me!
September 19th – It has been a while since an update so I will try and get as much in as I can…..
Firstly, the weather Tropical Storm Ernesto well, we had no down fence panels and the horses stayed out as the wind didn’t pick up as much as we thought. We just distributed them over the ranch so they all had plenty of shelter.
Secondly, Things are well underway for the new Riding Center that we are opening just over the road to the Stud. We have horses arriving in October and November and will be evaluated by our NEW Riding Instructor/Trainer Jennifer Sullivan. She will also be breaking, training and showing 3 of our stallions - Eldorado, Chief and Ali next year (hopefully) under saddle and/or driving. Some of the horses are also here on consignment so we will be getting them listed as soon as we can on our For Sale page. She will then also be giving lessons at the Riding Center to all ages under all disciplines.
Thirdly, This week *Danaway Ali was taken to the Reproduction Clinic, being assessed and collected to breed 5 pure bred Welsh Cob mares that was offered on lease to us (which we GREATLY appreciated), so hopefully we will have 9 foals due next year. We will keep you updated and details of the mares and photos will be on the website soon!
August 17th - Today we heard back from the WPCSA that *Danaway Ali's color test is through and he is a DUN!!! It was confirmed that he carries one creme gene so will be able to throw dilute foals for us - we are ecstatic!!
August 17th - We have been extremely busy the last month preparing lots of things for our new Pleasant Hill Riding Center. This is located just across the road from us and we are so looking forward to it. We will be offering lessons in ALL disciplines, pony parties, in-house competitions and tack shop and most of all we will be having fun!! We are hoping to open either just before Christmas or in the New Year but we have many things to do before we open the gates. Our webmaster John Veall has started our new website for the Riding Center and you can check it out here www.pleasanthillridingcenter.com, it is still under construction so please be patient with us, we are working hard on it!
All the ponies and cobs are doing well. Casi has made a full recovery and will most likely come home in a week or two, or we will take another pony up to where she is for company as she has been on her own for 4 weeks and she LOVES company! Thankfully it has been pretty quiet on the Ranch this last month, at least it has given me time to work on the new Riding Center...will update more soon!
July 20th -
July 18th - IT HAS BEEN A GREAT DAY!!! Puff and Daisy had their scans this afternoon. We managed to see a heartbeat on Puff's 40 day old embryo/foal and everything looked healthy, which was a relief. She will be re-checked (palpated) at 5 months pregnant when she gets her rhinobort shot. She will continue on the regumate until foaling.
July 17th - The hospital called about Casi over the weekend and she is going to stay there until Thursday. They want to make sure she is fit enough to come home. She still has a catheter inserted where she is getting her anti-biotics from. So we are planning to collect her on Friday and she has to stay isolated away from the other horses for about 5 weeks so she will be vacationing with my sister in law Karen (4 doors up). She is continuing to gain strength, and is in high spirits!
July 14th - Hopefully Casi (Jadehanna El Diosa) will be coming home after the weekend. They are still running a few tests and monitoring her, they advised me that they preferred her to stay the weekend and maybe Monday. They will keep me posted over the weekend as to how she is doing and will give me a definite date soon.
July 12th - We have great news! Our friend Jessica San Diego Multi-Time WPCSA National Champion, WPCSA High Score winner in multiple disciplines & successful USEA Eventer will be returning from Wales in August. Jessica will be competing at shows in September with Buttonwood Farm's wonderful stallion GF Prince Albert and THEN in October she will be coming to Jadehanna Ranch to be our resident trainer!!
June 26th - Today has been a GREAT day! Our vet Dr.Walter's came down to do Puff's (Rosmel Cream Puff) ultrasound and she is PREGNANT!! We are so pleased, because as you may remember Puff lost her foal last year and we tried to breed her back afterwards with no luck. She then had her tumor on her eye, that had to have surgery on-twice, so anymore breeding was out for Puff in 2005. So, we thought that we would again try this year for our long awaited Eldorado x Puff foal. She was bred on her first good cycle in April with no luck. We then missed May with her as we had many other outside mares to breed. So June came along and we agreed that we would try one more time as we was getting later in the year. We bred her but came to the conclusion that if she wasn't pregnant this time we would not breed her at all anymore, we would retire her. SO, lucky for us that she is now carrying that long awaited foal. She will be put on regumate for her pregnancy due to her age and the recent history, and please all keep your fingers crossed that she has a safe pregnancy and a healthy foal for us - so that is 3 foals next year - YIPPEE!!!!!! Due around May 2nd-if i'm lucky it may be on my B'day which is the 5th!
June 4th - Early this morning around 1.30am Lexi delivered us a big, beautiful black colt! He has a star on his head and a small white on his front foot. We were all there to see him being delivered and many ponycammers got to watch too. He will be named JADEHANNA LORD LEXINGTON aka "ACE". He is everything and more that we hoped for so THANK YOU to Lexi and GF Prince Albert with the help of Laura San Diego for producing him for us! His page will be up and running soon!
Lexi as you all know is still hanging in there. She is doing everything she should, waxed full udder, relaxed muscles, yawning, stretching, I could go on, but still no foal. Keep watching her for us and we will hopefully get our new foal soon!
May 25th - Lexi is coming along with her pregnancy. I don't think that we will have to wait much longer, I would hope to say within the week. If anyone has any name suggestions to do with Royalty, Lords, Lady etc then please email me on jhranch@cfl.rr.com with a Jadehanna Prefix on the front and a stable name.
May 21st - At the Gold Show, as Megan enjoyed herself sooo much and wants "back in" to Welsh ponies so to speak, Gail Thomson of Gayfields Welsh Ponies has offered us the loan of Gayfields Skate on Katie for Megan to improve her riding on and compete with her over the next year or two. Katie will hopefully stay with us until Megan's legs get far too long to ride her, and Megan is so excited about Katie's arrival! SO THANK YOU to Gail for thinking of Megan !!!
May 16th - Well, we are back from the SWA Gold Show in MS and we brought home 33 ribbons!!!! It was a great show with great weather and we had a brilliant time!
I have listed our results here:
PERFORMANCE
My daughter Megan (age 7) did extremely well in her first show for 2 years. Dr.Ruth Wilburn (WPCSA President) let her compete on Ozarks Let's Rock aka "Lettie". They went in Lead Line and came 3rd out of a large class and then they went into Leading Rein where she had to trot in the class (which was the first time for Megan) and they came 4th again out of a large class. She was so pleased and absolutely fell in love with "Lettie" - THANK YOU DR.RUTH!!.

May 10th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to *Springbourne Eldorado who is 7yrs old today and Jadehanna Magic Dragon who is 2yrs old today - WOW All these Birthdays!
April 26th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! to Monivea First Gold aka Patrick, he is at the ripe old age of 3 years old!!
April 17th - UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES!!!! They are all done and you can all see how much our ponies have changed. They all look good, so take some time and have a look at ALL the pages....
March 30th - It has been arranged for Sally & David Waters to come down to Jadehanna Ranch and take their wonderful photos of our ponies & cobs on Monday April 3rd. We will be busy bathing and clipping again on Sunday April 2nd! Lots of work to do. So as soon as we get the photos back, I'm sure they will be posted on the website for all to see what the difference a year makes on some of these horses!
March 27th – A sale has been made at Jadehanna Ranch! Northwind Caprice and Garden Gate Giggles & Grins have both been sold to a lovely lady in KY. She has bought these two lovely mares to start off her Welsh Stud Farm. They will be leaving within 10 days to start their travels. We hope they bring many years of enjoyment and much success on their new Welsh Pony Farm!
March 24th – We are on course for breeding season. *Thorncliffe Princess has already been bred to *Springbourne Eldorado and a scan will confirm (hopefully) a pregnancy on April 4th. This will be a full sibling to Jadehanna El Diosa and Jadehanna El Diablo. This foal will be retained OR may already be SOLD!
Rosmel’s Cream Puff has had the all clear from the eye doctor to go ahead and be bred and preparation is underway getting ready for her breeding this year to Eldorado as well. This foal will be a pure bred Section A and will either be a palomino or cremello.
Daydreaming Daisy has had her culture back as all clean and she too is underway on getting prepared for a breeding to Eldorado this year. This foal will be registered Half Welsh and Half POA and should hopefully be a nice one.
Misty Mountain Megan has been bred to GF Prince Albert and will have her scan shortly. This foal will be a pure bred Section D.
So I am hoping (fingers crossed) for 4 foals next year – YES 4 !!!!! So, I will need all of our Ponycam watchers out in full force next year – in fact we will probably have 2 cams on the go!
March 18th – Puff was collected from the vets today. She is a little swollen but finally getting there. She will have some rest and wear a fly mask for a while and be on triple anti-biotics for a week. Hopefully she will be ok from now on!
March 15th – Puff had her surgery today and all went well. I am hoping she will be home by the weekend, will update you again soon.
March 13th – Puff was taken to the vets today to the eye doctor. She will be examined by Dr. Hughes and by the top equine eye doctor in the Country, so please all think of Puff and pray she will be ok! Thank You!
March 4th – Wyvere Alexandra aka Lexi is on the PONYCAM full time now. She is in from around 5pm and her light will be on until 10pm (FL time). She will then be back out from around 9pm (FL time) She is getting very big now and blooming!
March 3rd – On March 13th Rosmel’s Cream Puff will be going back to the eye surgeon as her tumour has grown back quite aggressive. I am hoping that they won’t have to remove the eye, but they have got to do, what they have got to do. So all please say some prayers for her around that time and wish her luck ! We will update you all on her as soon as we know. Due to this she will probably not be bred this year, we are going to see how she goes with everything first.
March 1st – We have had some good news today. We will be welcoming back Sally & David Waters from Horsepix. They are wonderful UK photographers who have taken the majority of photos on my website. They will be taking updated pictures of the horses and spending a bit of time with us.
They also had some more good news for us….*Springbourne Eldorado will be having his photo in a 2007 calender and Lord Snowdon will be having his photo in a childrens book. As soon as we get details of which calendar and book we will post the link here for you to buy one.
February 17th – Well, we had our Farm Visit for the WPCSA AGM and it went GREAT ! We had a slight dilemma with the bus (not turning up) but when everyone jumped in cars we were good to go. Suzan Stevens (WPCSA Judge) carried out a very informative clinic that everyone enjoyed and learnt a lot from. Then we had the Ponies and Cobs at liberty or being ridden and that went SO well! All of the ponies that we personally showed PERFORMED, they obviously love a crowd and strutted their stuff. We had many lovely comments, many of which I’ll post on a link soon.THANK YOU to everyone who helped to arrange this successful day and THANK YOU to all the people that came and passed on their wonderful comments, we had a BLAST !
January 18th - We are hoping to show the following "fuzzy" ponies at our WPCSA AGM Farm Visit in February:
January 13th - It has been decided to hold a Farm Visit for all AGM visitors for Friday February 17th between 2-5pm. We will have many of our own ponies here and we have invited 5 other ponies and cobs from outside farms who are SWA Members. Visitors will see ponies or cobs either at liberty, ridden or driven and refreshments will be offered to our guests who will attend. So anyone who is interested please email me your name and how many people will be with you for the visit - Look forward to seeing you all !
