News and Winning Achievements of 2005
December 31st - We wish everyone a very Happy New Year and hopefully we will see many of you in 2006 !
December 27th - We have some great news, our new Section D mare Lexi (Wyvere Alexandra) finished 2nd NATIONALLY (Reserve Champion) in the Hunter Division on the WPCSA points board. She was shown by Jessica SanDiego and she finished behind her Mississippi husband GF Prince Albert.
December 10th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Dad today, I hope you have a great day !!
December 4th -
We now have our stallions that will be available
for Stud in 2006 on our Stud Services page.
Springbourne Eldorado - Multi Champion palomino Section A will be available
this coming year to a limited number of mares (Live cover preferred-AI will
be considered).
Miracle the Chief - Champion bay Section C will also be available to a
limited number of mares this coming year but for AI only. He is standing his
2006 season at Miracle Welsh, where he will also be trained and shown.
If you would like any more info on these stallions please email me on
jhranch@cfl.rr.com.
November 20th - The Southern Welsh Association 2005 Year End Results are in and we swept the board in the Section A Category.
November 6th - We had our good friends Laura and Jessica SanDiego come down from Mississippi this weekend. They were eventing a horse that they are training in Ocala the day before, so I went to watch Jessica compete, and then they came back to our house and stayed over. They got to see how Lexi was settling in and all the other horses, ponies and cobs that we own. We had a great time and look forward to seeing them again soon !
October 21st - " There is a new CHIEF in town " !
September 7th - We now have all of our wonderful sponsors for our October 15th "Fall of Fun" Show, Thank you to all !!
August 8th - We have decided to send our beautiful palomino Section D (Cob) mare Misty Mountain Megan to our friends in Mississippi for training. Laura & Jessica SanDiego and Suzan Stevens will be training Megan to be ridden over several months. Also the other exciting news is that whilst Megan will be up there she will be bred to the Black Section D (Cob) stallion GF Prince Albert for a 2007 foal. My family is very excited about this breeding, especially my husband as he thinks that Albert is a fantastic stallion. Albert has an awesome temperament and is almost unbeatable in the show ring, so I am hoping for a really nice foal from this pair. We will let you know when she will be leaving and how she will get on in Mississippi.
July 31st - Well we had a very successful GOLD Show !! Everyone pulled together and brought extra ponies and we all had a great time.
July 27th - Its going to be a busy bathing day, loading the trailer and generally getting ready. We are leaving for Mississippi around midnight tonight for the 10 hour trip to the show. We will be settling the horses in Thursday/Friday and showing 5 ponies on Saturday. Then helping run the show in between and on Sunday.
I hope that everybody that is going will have a great time and we will give you an update on our return !
July 22nd - We are one week away from the Southern Welsh Association Gold Show in Mississippi. We have plenty of help lined up and (hopefully) plenty of ponies attending. There will be a concession stand ran by the Pony Club and an Exhibitor Party in the evening. The show is going to be held at the Harrison County Fairgrounds and it is a beautiful place, very clean and well organized. There are a number of arena's to use and we may even get to do the Driving Classes on grass ! So if some of you still want to come you can get a prize list and entry form off of the Southern Welsh Association website www.southernwelshassoc.com and email me your entries before the end of the week (28th-latest) !.
Also I am now only 2 days away from collecting Lisa at Orlando Airport, oh Lisa, you really don't know how much work I've got for you girl !!
I'm really looking forward to you coming over, can't wait !!
July 15th - We have moved a few links about on the website. The PONYCAM and MESSAGE BOARD links are now located under the SALES page. We also have a new link called THE WELSH PONY, this is located under the HOME page and it tells you all about the different sections that the Welsh have. Also we would like to see continued message on our guestbook to let us know your thoughts on the website, we always like to read them !!
July 14th - July is a VERY busy month for me !! I have just come back from a quick vacation (8-12th) with Dean and my two girls to the new Nickelodeon Hotel. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves, swimming, waterslides, tattoos, hairwraps etc. It is very well run and it's worth taking the kids to - Dean and I just need another vacation to recover !!
Then I am going to Biloxi Mississippi on Sunday - Tuesday (16-18th) on business with Dean and I will also get to visit the showground's that we are having our Southern Welsh Association Summer on the Gulf WPCSA Gold Show (what a mouthful!), so it will be nice to see where everything is before we arrive. I will hopefully also be meeting up with a fellow breeder which will be nice.
Then my best friend Lisa will be coming out on the 24th July for 10 days to attend the show with us. She will help in the preparation and at the show-she is so handy with a sponge and dry rag !! So I can't wait for that - counting down the days Lisa !!
SO, my July is packed and I'm hoping for a quieter August !!
July 7th -
We would like to send our prayers and condolences to all the family,
friends and victims killed or injured in the London Bombing Attacks. We are
thinking of you all at this terrible time !

June 22nd -
We have had some exciting news today !! I am proud to announce that we have our
first 2006 foal on the way ! Drumroooooll please......
Daydreaming Daisy will be expecting her long awaited first foal by Monivea First
Gold !!!! So this will be our first registered half welsh/half POA. Her scan was
carried out today by our great vet Dr.Matt Walters and everything looked great.
The baby has attached and Daisy will have another scan on 45 days and then she
will be checked and start her rhinoborts on her 5th month. Now, Daisy is a liver
chestnut leopard mare and as you know Patrick (First Gold) is palomino, so I
have no idea what we will get, but it will be an exciting one to watch on the
ponycam !
So, I am so pleased that we now have a new link for 2006 FOALS, and Daisy is our
first lady in waiting !
June 17th
- We have some GREAT NEWS - Last night we went to a Southern Welsh Association
meeting/election and i'm pleased to announce that I was voted President of the
Association for a 2 year term ! My Mum Kathie was voted for Corresponding
Secretary which she started her job on the night taking minutes etc, and here is
a full list of the new Officers:
President - Caroline Lacey-Freeman (Jadehanna Ranch)
Vice President - Jodi Lante (Under the Son Farm)
Treasurer - Clara Shepherd (2nd term of this office)
Corresponding Secretary - Kathie Lacey-Freeman (Jadehanna Ranch)
Historian - Lynda Gillen-Smith (Solstice Welsh Cobs)
Junior Rep - Emma Kennedy
So, Congratulations to all the new Officers and I am really looking forward to
us all working together !
Also, Thank You to all the previous Officers for all of you hard work, these
previous years !
June 10th - Check out the new link on Eldorado's page - You can see most of his winning achievements during his showing career
May 23rd - The vet visited earlier and thoroughly examined Puff and I'm saddened to let you all know that unfortunately Puff has lost her foal. She is ok and sedated at the moment, but will be turned out later with her pasture buddy again. The cam will temporarily be down until we can sort all of this out. The message board will keep running and Lisa will be on there for me. I would just like to "Thank" John, Tina, Lisa & Stuart for your continued support ! and to all the ponycam buddies who have helped watch Puff....Thank U Caroline X
May 23rd - DAY 344 (12 - 16 days over due date) There is no real change in Puff today apart from that she has more muscle relaxation. She has been laying down alot and isn't comfortable at all. I do have a call into the vet to see what he suggests, but he will probably just prescribe "Patience". Will update you on her later...
**Happy 1st Birthday to Garden Gate Giggles &Grins aka GiGi**
May 22nd - DAY 343 - No change today regarding her udder (no wax and no dripping), but her sides are starting to cave in as the muscles are starting to relax. I just can't say when she will foal, but I am hoping and praying it will be soon. I may get the vet out tomorrow to check her over or just have a discussion over the phone, but he may want to come out and see her. Will update you tomorrow on what happens.
May 22nd - We wish THOMAS a very HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY. We hope you have a great day and get lots of prezzies. From all the people and ponies at JADEHANNA RANCH !!
May 21st - The votes are in and posted !. There is a link above the message board where you can see what everyone thinks Puff will have. If you have a late vote and want to be counted with the other Ponycammers, please email me on jhranch@cfl.rr.com and we will post your vote before Puff foals. Any votes received after she foals will be void
May 21st - We have checked Puff this morning and her croup is still very soft and she has WAX on her teats...AGAIN ! So, technically its within 24 hours but we have been here before. So, this could be the real thing or ANOTHER practice run ! She will be in for the same amount of time today and will be closely monitored. Fingers crossed that we will have a foal by tomorrow !!!!
May 19th - Puff is still hanging in there but we are gradually moving along. Her udder is no different today but she is getting very relaxed around the croup and she is getting ready for birth ! We appreciate all of our Ponycam buddies and the extra eyes that we know are watching, don't know how we could watch her without you all ! Thank YOU !!
May 17th - We have checked Puff today and her udder is FINALLY filling ! YIPEEEE !!!! She is still laying down alot and resting today. We will continue to monitor her today and throughout the night. We think that when she foals she will be in the top right hand corner, as she is spending lots of time up there and she is nesting up there. So i'm hoping that everyone can see something during the birth !.
May 16th - Well as you would of gathered by now Puff is still hanging on to that baby of hers ! Her udder is still a fairly average size, but her belly has dropped quite considerably - which means baby is getting onto position.I have no idea when she is going to decide to share this baby with us but we are all still watching very carefully over the 24 hour period. She was due between the 7th-12th May so I am hoping for a foal soon !! Will update more once she shows some more changes, or once she foals .
May 9th - On tonight's check of Puff we have found her to have have small white pin size spots on her teats, these are called crystals. She should hopefully foal within 24-48 hours, but I think Puff is the type of pony not to rush things, if they don't need to be ! Keep Watching and will update tomorrow.
May 7th - " GOT WAX " - sure have !!!! We checked Puff this morning and she had a milk colored glob on there. On Monday it was a skimmed milk white color, but now it is opaque white, she isn't dripping yet.- BUT she may drip by this afternoon ! She will be in for the majority of the day and she will only be turned out for an hour or so whilst we are down the barn working to stretch her legs. She lays down ALOT of the night - hopefully conserving energy for the big moment. So, this could be it within 24 hours, so keep watching !
May 6th - Puff's udder seems larger this morning and she has gone fairly quiet. She will be in this morning from 9am-11am as I am out at the kids school. Please watch her for us and call if there are any changes.
May 4th - Welcome to JADEHANNA RANCH - WE
ARE LIVE !!!!! Go check out the PONYCAM and the new
MESSAGE BOARD !!!!
May 3rd
- Puff rested alot last night and she had no wax
this morning but we aren't sure if she is knocking it off as she is constantly
lifting her back leg and kicking her udder. She will be watched again tonight,
every 2 hours to see how she goes. She is coming along nicely, and she is
enjoying the extra attention.
We have a NEW LIVE MESSAGE BOARD, which is located on the HOME page under the
galloping welsh photo. We would love for you all to come chat horses and meet
other people. We will post on here updates on Puff and you can ask me questions
about her or any of the other ponies. This will be the place to be when she
foals as my friend Lisa will be posting the sex and color of the foal for you
all, as soon as we know, you'll know ! It will be just like being there
yourself.
So, the PONYCAM will be up and running within a day or two and the message board
and cam should tie in, so you can chat about what is going on. I will even try
and post myself whilst you see me down in the barn ! So keep watching it''s
going to be exciting !!!
May 2nd - This morning when we checked Puff she had a glob of wax on one teat. Her udder still isn't really full but she is acting very subdued today and just wants to be around us, so things may be happening. Or its another FALSE ALARM ! Her stall has now been cleaned, disinfected and had 5 bales of new, clean, fluffy straw in it. Hopefully the barncam will be up and running within a day or two and we will then go LIVE across the World Wide Web - if she can hang on for us ! She is due the 12th but she has been on a medication to stop her itching, and this may induce labor.....Will let you know another update tomorrow...
April 29th - Just thought that I would announce another Eldorado baby has been born, no its not Puff ! It's Patchwork Charcoal who belongs to Wind Rush Ponies and the owners are Barbara & Barry Epps. Charcoal had a Cremello filly foal on April 24th, I have heard that both mother and baby are doing well and hopefully we will have some photo's soon, so will post them as soon as we have them ! Congratulations to all !!!

A "HUGE" Thankyou to my friend Lisa and my Mum who done an excellent job making
my ponies look immaculate !!
April 16th - My friend Lisa and her family
arrived safely and are enjoying the warmer weather and a nice pool ! She will be
attending a Southern Welsh Association (SWA) Double Bronze Show with me and my
Mum next weekend (April 23rd/24th). We are still working out who we will be
taking, but we have a 4-horse trailer so we are going to try and fill it up !
We will update you on our achievements when we get back next Sunday.
April 10th - The photo's are in !! We are
working out some of the best photos to put them onto the website on the ponies
individual pages and the Gallery. It is a hard job because there were so many
fantastic one's to choose from. Hopefully this will be done during the week and
we will let you know on this page when things are up and running.
Puff is coming along nicely, she is still filling up and in a week or so her
foaling stall will be disinfected and have some fluffy new straw in it. I think
she is about 4 weeks away but she went over 10 days last year with Magic, so
hopefully she won't keep us waiting as long.
We are in the process of setting up her barncam and wiring it up to the computer
so we are hoping that everyone will be able to see the run up to the birth and
the actual birth of her foal LIVE ! We will also have a LIVE running chat board
for visitors who want to ask questions about our ponies, Puff or generally chat
"equine". On this board the announcement will be made if we have a colt or
filly, chestnut, pally or cremello, so you will hear it here first !
This is being worked on and I again will let you I know on this page when
hopefully things work.
AND last of all, my friend Lisa and her wonderful family will be arriving on
Thursday for 2 weeks. Hopefully in that time we will be attending a 2 day Welsh
Show and she will come and visit the ponies - I know how you miss them all, Lisa
! So it's going to be a very exciting week !
April 4th -
We have added a new mare to our MARES page on the site. Her name is Kyrie
Eleision. She is actually a mare that I have owned since she was a baby
and she is now 14 years old. She is a beautiful bay Welsh/Thoroughbred
that is back in the UK. Kyrie is being looked after by a good friend of
mine whose name is Helen Alderton and she is in the best hands as she is a
trainer. She has taken care of Kyrie since I have been over here in the
USA and doing a grand job. The photo taken of her on the Mares Link page
is when they won Reserve Grand Champion of Show (Showing) in the Summer of
2004. Her page will be up and running soon and we shall post some more
wonderful photos of her. MISS YOU Kyrie !!

March 27th -
Puff had her second uncomfortable night last night. Either the baby hasn't
moved into a more comfortable position for her or she may go into premature
labour soon. We are continuing to watch her on the barncams and monitor her
throughout the night. She only has about 5 weeks to go, so hopefully she
will hang in there for a couple more weeks, if not we will deal with what
ever nature decides. Her udder is starting to fill, which is a good sign,
but if she foals she needs to have enough milk to feed the foal, if not and
the foal is ok, we will have to hand feed him/her until Puff is ready to
supply the milk.
Will update you on her again soon.
March 26th -
We had a bit of a scare last night with Puff. We wasn't sure whether she was
going into premature labor or had colic. We called the vet and he said that
it sounded like the baby was lying on an intestine which had made her very
uncomfortable. She was given Banamine and then after an hour she was walked
for about 20 minutes, this seem to ease things. This morning she is still
pawing the ground and a little uncomfortable so we will monitor during the
day and call the vet out if she persists.
** I have no phone at the Ranch yet, so for people trying to call, please
call my cell phone 407 361 7388, THANKS **
March 25th -
We are about 4 - 6 weeks away from our second foal of 2005. Puff is starting
to fill out and take her late pregnancy shape. She is getting tired and
enjoys the attention. She is still out in the pasture with Honey and my
handsome baby "Buddy", and she will stay with her until her baby arrives
now. She has started her 3 meals a day as she just can't manage to eat all
of her meals twice a day, so it has been spread out and increased slightly.
The foaling stall will be prepared by disinfecting it then she will have
several bales of nice, clean, fluffy straw put down for her.
We are planning to re-set up the barncams and hopefully (fingers crossed) we
will go LIVE with her birth on this website for you all to see. We was going
to do this next year but as it worked out well for Honey with us we are
going to give it a go, but bear with us as it's all of our first time doing
this.
So, once this is all done it's just the waaaaaaaaiting ! Will update you on
her again soon in a couple of weeks.
Our "Buddy" boy is doing very well. He is a real chunk now - just like Dad,
and he is still so adorable. I just can't believe how lucky I have been with
him. He is just round me the whole time and I absolutely love him to pieces
!!!
He will be attending his first show in April with his dam, so I'm hoping he
will behave himself and not be too overwhelmed with everything. I am going
to try and get some more photos soon as his face is starting to shed and the
true dish head of a Welsh Pony is really showing through.
March 5th -
For those of you that know us, you would know
that for the past year we have been building our own home on Jadehanna
Ranch. This process has had it's up's and down's, especially with 3
hurricanes continually taking off the roof ! Well, we are finally looking to
close on the house on Tues March 8th, so fingers crossed and it means that
we can finally accommodate our friends and family ! YIPEEEE !
February 26th - We got to go to the SWA
Award Banquet for the 2004 End of Year Awards where we collected 5 Awards.
Dean and Megan came with me and we had a good night. Megan felt very
confident after collecting the first ribbon with me, as she managed to
collect all of the others on her own. She was very proud and enjoyed the
moment.
Thankyou to the SWA for the fantastic ribbons - they were nearly as big as
Megan !
** Click Here for photos taken on the night and the
ribbons that were collected **
February 20th - We have a NEW page on the website called " J " Babies. This page is dedicated to all of our Jadehanna named Babies. If you click on their names it will take you straight to their pages.
February 10th
- The Southern Welsh Association 2004 Year End
Awards are in and here are the results :
Section A Halter Award - RESERVE CHAMPION
- Jadehanna El Diosa ( 2 points away from Champion )
Section A Halter Award - 4th Place - Northwind Caprice
Section A Halter Award - 5th Place - Jadehanna Magic Dragon
Leadline Award - 3rd Place - Megan Lacey-Freeman
You Never Outgrow A Welsh Award (Highest Scoring Exhibitor) -
RESERVE CHAMPION - Caroline Lacey-Freeman
So, we will be collecting 5 awards this year, which we are very proud of, we
are hoping to beat that this year !!!
THANKS to the Southern Welsh Association for putting on the Shows for us
here in Florida !
February 9th -
Today "Jadehanna El Diablo" aka "Buddy"
is 4 weeks old and he has changed tremendously. He is really filling out and
starting to look like "Dad". He has the wonderful temperament of Mum and Dad
and likes to be with you ALL the time ! He is such a pocket pony and loves
the attention from everybody. Over the weeks I have been watching him and he
moves like a true Welsh "A" and has that "BIG" wide eye and the typical
dished nose, I can't be more pleased with him - can you tell??
Anyway, his own page is now updated and re-written, and be sure to scroll
down as there are some updated photos of him - taken today ! ENJOY !!
January 26th -
El Diablo seems to have a stable name now " Buddy". All we seem to keep
calling him is Buddy boy so it has stuck. His "Jadehanna El Diablo" will be
his Registered/Show name, but Buddy will be his everyday name.
He is 2 weeks old today and he had his first venture out into the big wide
world - well down the road anyway, to meet the neighbours. He had a great
time and was good as gold. It was his first time on a leadrope and we had no
double back flips, just a nice steady walk/trot and he stuck right next to
Honey. He met his daddy over the fence and Eldorado looked very proud,
whilst Mum was watching carefully !
I will take some updated photos of him soon and his whole page will be
updated (hopefully) by the weekend.
Puff is next to foal and she is due the
1st week in May, so she is starting to get bigger and she has had her 5 & 7
month Rhinobort done and she seems to be blooming, so updates will be
started on her around March.
January 20th - We have great news today ! - We have been chosen by Professional UK Equine Photographers Sally & David Waters to be one of the select Farms that they will visit and photograph this year when the come to Florida. They will take photos of all the horses & ponies and they then put them into their library and then businesses come to them to use the photos to go onto bags of feed, calendars, horse books and magazines etc.. So, next time you go to the feed store or buy that horsey book you just may see a "Jadehanna" horse or pony in there.
January 19th - Lisa returns home today after a very exciting 2 weeks.
She will be back again in April with her family and then probably once more
again at the end of this year to attended the Stallion Showcase with me.
Many photos were taken and kisses were exchanged and that was just between
Lisa and the ponies !!
I would just like the "Thank" her for all of her help these passed 2 weeks,
I will really miss her and no doubt we will be chatting on the phone as soon
as she gets back !
** More updated photos
of El Diablo are on his page **
and
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY El Diosa (Casi) !!
January 15th -
We have named our new colt "Jadehanna El Diablo". He has been doing
extremely well the last day or so and he has been trying out his feet and is
galloping all over the place. I have had numerous people tell me that he
should stay buckskin but only time will tell. I am so pleased with him, words
just can't describe ! He is already walking up to me and whinning when we
enter the barn - so he is very vocal like Mum & Dad !
Will post some more photos soon now he is unfolding.
January 13th -
Today Honey and Son have had their health check and the vet has given them
both the "all clear". Whilst the vet was here we were discussing the new foals
colour and he has confirmed that he is in fact (at the moment) a BUCKSKIN !!!
As we all know he may change but the vet thinks that he may go a little
darker...so fingers crossed that he will stay this way.
They are now both out in the maternity paddock and enjoying the sun and cooler
weather.
** Updated Photos will be on his page soon **
January 12th -
At 2.30pm this afternoon Honey delivered us a beautiful (born) buckskin/dun
COLT ! As far as we can see at the moment he has a star on his head and 2 back
socks. He is absolutely stunning to say the least...Honey you done me
proud, girl ! We were all there to see him enter the world and what a greeting
he had, photos and video were taken and tears of joy were shed ! Honey is
doing well and our li'l man is standing and feeding well. I have posted a
couple of photos on his page for you to see. In the photos he is a dark colour
as he was only around 10 mins old, so I will take some others as he is ALOT
lighter now he is dry. We aren't expecting him to stay buckskin/dun as they
change so much but no doubt we will keep you updated on his progress.
THANKS to everyone who has kept in contact and photos will be emailed to you
all !
JANUARY 5th - What an exciting day it's going to be today ! My friend Lisa arrives from the UK this afternoon and guess what ??? Honey held out for her ! She must of felt sorry for her last year missing the birth of El Diosa, so she has hung on in there for her this year...well done Honey !
JANUARY 3rd - Well, we have been watching Honey very carefully the last 2 days and last night I was up all night with her. She looked to have alot of signs of being very uncomfortable, which means I really don't think it will be long now ! She is now out in her maternity pasture but is standing round alot and not really grazing, so she will continually be watched on a regular basis today and may even be brought into her stall for a while during the day to be watched on the new barncam. Hopefully there won't be too many more sleepless nights !!!
JANUARY 1st 2005
!! - HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody !! Honey
is doing well in the maternity wing, we checked her today and the baby has
definatly moved and she is HUGE ! to say the least. We have noticed an increase
in resting periods with her and her pasture buddy Puff has been at her side the
whole time.
The fencing is here and will be completed within the next day or so and both
Honey and Puff will be moved into the "Maternity Pasture" until she foals and at
least 1 month after until the foal gets strong and the bonding has been done
with Mum and baby. This patsture is baby safe with strong fencing and it backs
on to the stalls so Honey and baby can wander in and out as they please.
Honey is checked on at least 3 times a day including the 9 o/c check and I don't
think it will be long before I move into the tack room - we will post another
update soon.
